About me
My name is Helga Kessinger.
My education and professional experience.
Studied translation studies (University of Heidelberg) in English and French
Degree in translation.
Afterwards several years of experience as a securities trader at major international banks.
I have been teaching German as a foreign language for about 15 years and my more than 150 participants so far have come from all over the world, from China, India, Iran, Japan, Eastern Europe, Pakistan, South America, South Korea, Syria, the USA and so on.
They work for international corporations (BASF, Beiersdorf, Infinion), medium-sized companies (Knorr Bremse, Kulzer), research institutes (Leibniz Institute, Fraunhofer Institute), orchestras (Konzerthaus Berlin, Deutsche Oper Berlin) or they are students.

I took a month-long online German Telc B2 Test Preparation course taught by Helga, with 3 other students from diverse backgrounds. It was just like being in a live classroom. She brought us through the different sections of the test with realistic simulations, focused on the areas where each student was weakest, and provided helpful tips without which I could not have passed the test. A major portion of passing the 82 Tele test is understanding the test format and especially how Germans phrase questions, how Germans think. Helga explained these things well during the simulations. In addition, we had lots of opportunity to speak, which you need both for the test and for real life. With a good balance of appropriate correction and allowing students to just speak, Helga kept digital blackboard notes and made them available as extra and very practical material. I recommend Helga to anyone looking to improve their overall German ability.
